Sant Martí d’Empúries Dunes coastal dunes
A tour following the L'Escala to Sant Martí d'Empúries mediaeval hamlet forest trail in which you can learn about dune formation and settling process inviting you to observe the local flora and fauna. It includes looking into the Torre de Pedró Tower.
Coastal defensive architecture Learn more about L'Escala history in the age of piracy. A tour of the borough which includes sighting some fortified country houses, Pedró and Montgó Towers and the history about their use to ward off pirate attacks. You shall also take you into La Clota bunkers rounded off by a pleasant hike inside Montgrí Natural Park (Planasses and Bol Roig).
Maritime route. Piracy, fishing and smuggling A boat excursion to become further acquainted about L'Escala's history, including Montgó Tower's role as a defence against pirate attacks and some fishermen's tales about smuggling. You can also admire the geological wonders of the Montgrí coast, with fascinating names like Cambres Cave , the Tobacco and Salt Caves , the Goddess's Leap , Miladones , Papananses , Ferriol Cove and La Foradada rock formation. Some trips may offer an optional swim.
