Continuing towards the farmhouses, we pass along the road between two fortifications and over the mountain, until we reach the . Here we cross over the main road (we have to walk a few metres in the direction of Tourism office at the northern entrance to l’Escala l’Escala to find a good place to cross, where the road narrows a little).
Once across the road, we take the path heading North-East, and we soon see the ruins of Santa Magdalena on our left side. We carry on until we pass
Mas Sastruc, continuing all the while in a straight line heading North-East. We then arrive at the Coma Hill, where we can see the fence that circles the site of the Archaeology Museum of Catalunya-Empúries. We follow this fence around towards the village of Sant Martí d’Empúries, whose church and roofs we can already see. Before we reach Sant Martí d’Empúries, and without entering the village, we take the Promenade of Empúries going towards l’Escala. This stretch involves a good long walk (around 2.5 km long), passing in front of the beaches of the , les Moll Grec , Muscleres and the beach of Portitxol until we come to the bridge, Pont del Rec, at the end of the promenade of Empúries. At this point we turn right along the Avenue Avinguda Francesc Macià, following the direction of the channel until we come to the last street (Carrer de Ca l’Ase), where we turn right. Follow this street and take the first left turn, passing in front of a garden centre until we come out at the main road. Other points The farmhouses of Les Corts consist of the Molí de Sant Vicenç (C. XVIII) and the fortified farmhouses of Mas Feliu (Can Baix) and Mas Torreportes (Can Noguera), which both have round defence towers. Next to the Mill, there are the remains of the Romanesque church of Sant Vicenç, where the important road, the Camí d’Empúries passed.
As regards the
church of Santa Magdalena (C. VI-X), we can see that it is pre-Romanesque, in a similar style to that of Santa Creu de Rodes (both formerly belonging to the Bishop of Empúries). Standing at Mas Sastruc, we can enjoy a spectacular view of the Empordà coastal plain and the Pyrenees in the distance.
One part of this route runs along the
Promenade of Empúries, which was inaugurated in 1992 as part of the Barcelona '92 Olympic Games , to welcome the arrival of the Olympic flame.
