L´Escala and the beaches
L´Escala has been working for the certification of its beaches since 2009 using two of the most rigorous environmental management systems in existence; the EMAS Regulations and the ISO 14001 International Regulations; the former is recognised at a European level and the latter is recognised internationally.
When visiting the beaches and coves of l´escala please remember...
To throw your rubbish in the bins
Not to waste water at the foot showers.
Not to put soap in the foot shower
To throw your extinguished cigarette butts into the bins
Not to bring your dog to the beach
To respect the beach facilities
Not to swim outside the marked areas (buoy zone)
If you have a boat, use the public entry and exit channels for motorised boats
Do not light fires in the coves
For your own safety, please remember...
To check the colour of the beach flag:
Green flag: safe swimming
Yellow flag: swim with caution
Red flag: swimming prohibited
Use the assigned swimming areas
Do not enter the water quickly after eating or sunbathing
Avoid excess exposure to the sun
Follow the instructions of the lifeguards
Do not use any type of boat or floating equipment (rowing, sailing or motorised craft) in the swimming areas or when there is a strong wind
